Terms & Conditions of Service

This document outlines the agreement between the client and Real Records regarding our Nevada expungement services.

1. Acceptance of Terms: By engaging with Real Records’ services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms govern all services provided for Nevada record sealing and criminal record removal.

2. Non-Profit Status and Fees: Real Records operates as a non-profit dedicated to affordable access to justice. Our fees are for administrative costs and are separate from mandatory court filing fees, fingerprinting fees, and state reporting fees. Fees are non-refundable once work has commenced on your file.

3. Client Responsibilities: The client is solely responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful documentation, including all required reports, forms, and fees. Delays caused by incomplete client packets are the client’s responsibility.

4. Legal Guarantee and Outcome: Real Records guarantees professional expertise and diligent process management. We do not, however, guarantee a specific outcome. Court decisions regarding record sealing are made by a judge, based on individual eligibility and statutory waiting period requirements (NRS Chapters 179 and 453). Our commitment is to maximize your chance of a clean slate.

5. Communication: All official correspondence regarding case status and document requirements will be managed through email or designated secure client portals.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy and the security of your sensitive personal and legal information are our highest priority.

1. Data Collection: Real Records collects personal information, criminal history records (CHR and SCOPE reports), identification copies, and financial payment data solely for the purpose of drafting and filing Nevada criminal record sealing petitions.

2. Data Use: Client data is used exclusively to determine eligibility, prepare court documents, communicate with the District Attorney’s office, and manage the case process. We do not sell or share client data for marketing purposes.

3. Data Security: We employ industry-standard encryption and security protocols to protect all sensitive client data. Paper documents containing criminal history details are destroyed via cross-shredding upon case closure. Digital records are stored on secure, encrypted servers.

4. Data Sharing (Legal Requirement Only): Client data is only shared with third parties as required to perform the service, specifically: the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the appropriate District or Justice Court, and the Office of the District Attorney.

5. Policy Updates: This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our data handling procedures or Nevada state law regarding expungement services.
